You tell me where you’d like to go and how it should feel. I vet the hotels, bring you three to five, and book in your name.

Who plans

I’m Fabian, and I plan every trip myself.

EHL in Lausanne, management trainee at Park Hyatt Zürich, then Junior Sales Manager at FELFEL. Plus twenty-four countries travelled, with a focus on South and Central America, the Gulf and Southern Europe. No agency, no hotline, no handing you on to someone else.

The point of view

A hotel isn’t a picture or a star rating. It’s an operation.

Whether a stay goes well is rarely decided by the list of amenities. It’s decided by how a hotel is run, how wide the gap is between promise and everyday reality, and whether the category you book is worth its surcharge.

If you’ve stood on the other side of the reception desk, you see that sooner. That’s the view you get.

The method

Three checks before I recommend anything.

The first two come with every trip. The third when it suits your trip and I know someone locally.

1Fit Check

What should this trip be?

Atmosphere, pace, budget and what you definitely don’t want. That becomes the yardstick I measure every hotel against.

2Hotel Check

Does the hotel live up to its pictures?

Location, concept, service, type of guest, room category and booking conditions. And whether an upgrade is worth its price.

3Local Check where possible

What does someone who lives there say?

If I know someone at the destination through my personal network, I ask for an extra perspective. Not possible for every destination, and I’ll tell you beforehand whether it is.

What each check covers

What you get

An honest shortlist instead of a long list.

  • Three to five hotels. For each one: why it’s on the list and what speaks against it.
  • The right room category. With a clear view on whether an upgrade is worth it.
  • Booked in your name. You pay the hotel or booking partner, never me.
  • A one-page itinerary and someone to contact if something isn’t right while you’re away.

The process

Four steps. No surprises.

  1. Enquiry

You tell me where you’d like to go and roughly when. Within 48 hours you get an honest assessment. Free of charge.

  2. Call and proposal

About thirty minutes, by phone or video. Afterwards you know what I’ll take on and whether a fee applies.

  3. Shortlist and booking

Three to five hotels, each with reasoning and a counter-argument. You decide, I book.

  4. Before and during the trip

You receive the itinerary. If something isn’t right on site, you get in touch with me.

Fees

You know what it costs before you start.

The initial assessment and introductory call are free. Depending on the scope and complexity of the trip, a planning fee may apply. Before any costs arise, you receive a clear proposal outlining the service and fixed fee. I begin only after your explicit approval. No additional charges are made without renewed approval.

Depending on the booking channel, I may receive a commission from the hotel or booking partner. Before booking, I compare the price, conditions and included benefits and explain which booking channel will be used.
